    Troubleshooting Guide for Autobin Sensor Bin Lids

    To help resolve common issues with your Autobin sensor bin lid, please follow these steps:

     1.     Check and Replace the Batteries

    • Ensure you use high-quality batteries e.g.,Duracell) for optimal performance.
    • If the lid is unresponsive, replace the batteries by opening the compartment, removing the old ones, and inserting new ones.

     2. Reset the Sensor 

    If replacing the batteries doesn't resolve the issue, reset the sensor by following these steps:

    • Press and hold the "Close" button for 3 seconds. The light will change from green to red.
    • Press and hold the button for 3 seconds to return the light to green.
    • Test the sensor by waving your hand near it to check if it responds.

     3. Lid Operation Modes

    The lid button allows you to toggle between three modes:

    • Manual Operation: Press the button to keep the lid open; press again to close.
    • Sensor Operation: The lid opens automatically when you wave your hand in front of the sensor and closes once you move away.
    • Lock Mode: Press and hold the button for 3 seconds to lock the lid in the open position. To unlock, repeat the process.

     4. If the Issue Persists
     
    If the troubleshooting steps don't resolve the issue:

    • Under Warranty: Please submit a warranty claim if your product is within the 12-month warranty period.
    • Out of Warranty: If your product is outside the warranty period, you can purchase a replacement lid directly from our resellers our website.

    Warranty Terms and Conditions for Autobin Sensor Bin Lids

    Autobin provides a limited 12-month warranty on all`sensor bin lids, covering defects in materials and workmanship under normal use conditions. We are committed to resolving valid warranty claims efficiently while adhering to the following terms and conditions.

     1.    Warranty Coverage:

    Autobin warrants all sensor bin lids against defects in materials and workmanship for twelve (12) months from the date of original purchase. This limited warranty extends only to the original purchaser and applies solely under conditions of everyday use.

     Upon verification that your claim meets all eligibility criteria, Autobin will replace the defective lid. While the
    replacement product itself is provided without charge, a mandatory processing
    fee of £29.95 applies to all warranty claims. 

    This processing fee covers:

    Administrative costs associated with claim verification and processing.

    Packaging, handling, and shipping of the replacement lid

     2.    Warranty Claims Process:

     2.1 Mandatory Troubleshooting Requirements

    Before submitting a warranty claim, you must complete all of the following troubleshooting steps:

     Replace existing batteries with new, high-quality alkaline batteries (e.g., Duracell)

    Perform a sensor reset according to the instructions in the troubleshooting guide.

    Verify correct operation in all modes (manual, sensor, and lock) 

    Failure to complete these mandatory troubleshooting steps may result in the denial of your warranty claim. 

    2.2 Eligibility Criteria for Warranty Replacement 

    To qualify for warranty service, you must satisfy all of the following conditions:

     Provide verifiable proof of purchase (original or copy of purchase invoice)

    Confirm completion of all mandatory
    troubleshooting steps

    Submit your warranty claim within the 12-month warranty period from the date of the original purchase

     

    2.3  Processing Fee for Warranty Claims 

    A non-refundable processing fee of £29.95 is required for all warranty claims. This fee includes:

     Administrative Costs: Processing, verification, documentation management, and customer communications

    Shipping Costs: Professional packaging,
    handling, and delivery of your replacement lid (delivery within 3-5
    working days from payment processing)

     

    Legal Basis for Processing Fee:

     The warranty covers manufacturing defects in the product itself. However, external services, including logistics, packaging, and administrative processing, represent necessary costs not covered under the warranty terms.

     This fee ensures prompt service delivery and efficient claim resolution.

     3.    Warranty Exclusions:

     This limited warranty explicitly does not cover the following:

     Damage resulting from misuse, abuse, neglect, or improper handling.

    Cosmetic damage, including scratches, dents, or marks that do not affect functional performance.

    Malfunctions arising from the use of incorrect or substandard batteries.

    Products that have been modified, repaired, or tampered with by unauthorized personnel.

     4.    Limitation of Liability:

     Except for the replacement of defective lids as expressly provided in these terms, Autobin shall not be liable for any
    indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from the use or inability to use this product, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or other intangible losses.

     5.    Governing Law:

     These warranty terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising in connection with this warranty shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

     

    6.     Warranty Claim Submission Procedure:

     To initiate a warranty claim, you must:

     Contact Autobin customer service using the contact information provided in your product documentation.

    Submit verifiable proof of purchase (copy of purchase invoice)

    Confirm that all mandatory troubleshooting steps have been completed.

    Remit the non-refundable £29.95 processing fee! 

    Upon satisfaction of all requirements and verification of claim validity, your replacement lid will be processed and
    dispatched promptly.
